microsoft mouse

By wesley.chin ·
after every restart, the functionality of the microsoft mouse is lost and the properties have to be reactivated. The mouse prior to the MS mouse is also MS, but is a basic optical. The new one is a MS wireless laser 5000. Why does this occur?

Becaause the system misses the old mouse

by robo_dev In reply to microsoft mouse

Did you uninstall the drivers and all software associated with the old device?

While mouse drivers are simple and tend to work pretty much plug-and-play, the associated software packages like Microsoft IntelliPoint, tend to be marginal, at best.

If you can live without every weird little feature that the mouse can do, then don't install these extra will have fewer problems like this.
