Microsoft Office 2003

By hdhokia ·
I have suddenly lost the ability to open more than one file (and display the other open ones in the task bar) in Office 2003. Is there a tweak or repair that can be carried out to restore this facility?

Check to see if you maybe have this enabled. I got the following from microsoft's site.
Right-click the background of the Windows XP Taskbar, and then click Properties.
Click the Taskbar tab.
Select the Group similar taskbar buttons check box.
Each open window in your Office program is now grouped together in one single button. Click this button and then click one of the windows to view it. If you want a single button displayed for your program that opens the program rather than a list of windows when you click it, do the following:

On the Tools menu in your program, click Options, and then click the View tab.
Clear the Windows in Taskbar check box.
Note In some cases, your program windows may not display grouped in one single button even after following the steps above. For example, if the Windows XP Taskbar is displayed vertically, the windows may continue to display as separate icons.
