MICROSOFT OFFICE

By galehickey2 ·
I opened up an EXCEL file that I had saved
and in a minute it went off the monitor. This
happened in WORD and ACCESS. I tried opening
a blank sheet but as soon as I typed in a few
characters it disappeared. I REINSTALLED
MS OFFICE with same results. Any help.

Sounds like there is a virus in your system, try updating your antivirus and scanning the system for virus.

The Sircam virus is one of several that affects some MicroSoft software in this way.

It will take several steps to get your system back to where it was before, but the first thing you must do is to upgrade your virus definition files and run a virus scan.

You can also check this web page to see if one of the downloads might help.

try completely uninstalling Microsoft Office from your system. Then run scandisk and your antivirus software to make sure there is nothing wrong with your system. Once this is complete, try installing Office again. If you still have problems, you may wanna look at getting a new copy. It's possible that your copy has gone bad. (i.e., cd is scratched, blemished, etc.)
