Microsoft Office Outlook/Office Programs

An incoming e-mail has a link to go to another webpage,when clicked on the following message appears "this operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer.Contact sys administrator" that occurs in WORD,EXCEL,, and others, if I set a hyperlink in thos programs and try to click on it to go to another page the above error comes up..I'm running Win-7

I found the following on another site....they claim it works...

Problem is a file association one. Download the reg fix for HTM/HTML files from here:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm
Unzip & merge keyfile.
Works on Vista & Win7 as well.


The dircet link to the file download is here if you can't find the HTM/HTML Associations in the list...

This is what worked for me:

For Windows Vista
> Click Start, and click Default Programs
> Click Set program access and computer defaults
> Click Custom, select Internet Explorer and click OK
> Close and re-open Microsoft Outlook

I tried the Win Vista approach and no luck it kept going back to previous settings. The HTM/HTML download did work..Thanks
