Microsoft Outlook 2003 and Importing keys

By contact ·
Hi, on our site we generated a key pair and a script encrypts and sends mail - everything is working on that end. Our company uses Microsoft Outlook 2003 and it has a PGP plugin.

How do I set this up? I tried importing a key.
Does the public key have to be in any format other than .txt
(I wish they had made it so that the keys could be copy/pasted in. To decrypt the email, I should only need to import a public key (from the keypair) and let the private key reside on our server ..right? :)

Microsoft could've made it where it says = "Import public key?" (and a box opens and you copy and paste the key in.) IMO

I believe the keys are imported through IE. Outlook uses the security settings from there. Have you tried that?

nope I havent tried that.
But in the Outlook tools it has a box for generating keys etc. but generating them isn't what's needed. I've not had to do this before, so any advice on this would be appreciated. The private key is working on server and the PHP mail encryption is working (as it sends emails encrypted)

So only need to import public key to read the emails.

What is the usual process for this?
Thank You
