Microsoft Outlook 2003 will not open

Somehow my POP Outlook client (I am not connected to an Exchange server) got corrupted and refuses to open successfully.

I have done a system restore with no impact on this problem.

I did not install any plug-ins to Outlook in between the time it worked and now.

I completley uninstalled Outlook and reinstalled it to no effect.

When I open Outlook in Safe mode I get the same problem.

Please help!

What OS are you using?

Did you check in the Task Manager to see if Outlook.exe was still running? If so, end the task.

Did you try a reboot?

We need more information to help you.

outlook.exe is not running in the background.

My OS is XP Home Edition version 2002 SP2.

I have rebooted about 10 times to no effect.

The only 3rd party plug-ins I have to Outlook are LinkedIn and Cloudmark.

What else do you need to know?

Please follow the below mentioned steps,
this is a common problem which is caused due to cloudmark.
start>run>regedit>HKCU>software>microsoft>office>outlook>addins( delete them by right click ).

Also visit cloudmark website for the patch released for this purpose.

hope this will resolve the issue.
