Microsoft SQL Server 6.5

SQL Server 6.5 record transaction to log file, the log file device will be full, need manual click "trancate log" button to trancate the log file, How to auto delete the log file in the SQL Server 6.5?

You have a couple of options. Which direction you take depends on your situation. How quick are then files filling up? Do you need to keep the log files for restore purposes? Do you need to keep them at all?

Here are two possible options,
Option1: If you don't need to keep the transaction log records at all. Just set the "Truncate on checkpoint" option. This will automatically clear the log whenever a checkpoint is reached. This is usually at the end of a transaction.

Option 2: Do regular transaction log dumps. This is the same as database dumps, except that it only dumps the transaction logs. If you are performing a lot of transactions, you might want to setup a scheduled job to dump the transaction log every hour. The frequency rellay depends on how much activity is taking place.
