Microsoft Visual Basic

PC recently crashed and reinstalled programs. Upon opening Word or Excel a "Microsoft Visual Basic" dialog box appears with an error message "Compile error in hidden module: AutoExec"-pressing the OK button lets me go about my buisness but what isthis error and how do I get rid of this box?

Launch the Windows Explorer.
Go to the directory specified in Word as the Startup folder (the default is typically C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Word\Startup).
Delete the "MathType Commands for Word 95" file.

I could not find "Word" under "Office".

I just had this same problem. It had to do with the Adobe Acrobat PDF Maker. If that function is installed with Office XP (2002) and Norton Anti-Virus it can cause problems. There is an update to Acrobat (to 5.0.5 I believe) that may fix the problem. We had to end up finding the PDFMaker files in the office folders.
