I keep having problems with my pc. This error msg keeps coming up-

This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way.
Here is the tricky part. Everytime this msg comes up my cd drive disappears and my computer does not recognize that I have a drive. I have had a new hard drive installed. This fixed it for about 3 months, then same thing happened. Had new cd drive installed. That fixed the problem for about 3 days. Now thay are going to put in a new cd drive again, but I know this will not fix it. I have run system recovery when my drive was working but didn’t fix anything. I have heard that this program is HP games and I don’t usa them and the error comes up as soon as I turn the computer on. So I guess it’s something in my start up, but don’t know what. Is it possible I have a virus eating my cd drive? What could be the problem? Please help. I use this computer for my business and I haven’t been doing business for over a week now. Thank you for any help you can give!
