Microsoft Word 2000

By tlnarc ·
I have been experiencing a large number of occurences of the following:

Application error: Winword.Exe
"The instruction at "0x308f26ac" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read".

The instruction number varies betweenoccurences. I have searched Microsoft's website and none of their solutions have helped. So if anyone knows of another possible fix for this, please let me know.

Try the usual things.
Delete any TMP files Word leaves around. Search for files that start with a tilde (~). Delete ~*.*
Rename/delete Normal.dot
Syart Word on the command line with

Winword.exe /a

Look in Templates and Add-ins

See if any of these articles helps:

You you have any other applications open when this is occuring?
Have you recently installed any new Software?
Try re-installing and service packing the Office application again.
