Microsoft Word error message

Since I’ve loaded WinFax PRO 10.0 on my computer, Microsoft Word will not open and gives and error message that says “this program has performed an illegal operation and will close.” When I go to RUN and type in “winword.exe /a” word opens and functions correctly. Need input.
