Microsoft Word log or registry

By rattis45 ·
Does Windows keep a log of Microsoft Word documents that were created or modified? If so, where is this kept and in what versions of windows. Can this log or registry be modified? Can the time or date stamp be modified without leaving evidence of same?

All versions of Windows keep the "recent documents" list. MS Word edits are added to this list. The list is typically located in:

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Recent

where USERNAME is the user name. These are shortcut files and can be deleted to remove them from the list.

The last modified date can be edited using third party tools.
