Midi Problems

By Cajunrebel ·
Hi,
I cannot play any midi as it gives an error saying something about my streaming. It used to work fine and then one day it just quit. I can play a wav and also play flash on the net, just not midis I have tried about everything I know and am at a standstill. Can anyone help? I have run diagnosis programs and checked what I know to check and everything comes up fine.

Thanks in advance.
Sandy

Sandy,
It would help us help you if you could provide the exact wording of the error message.
You should be able to copy and paste the text.

A couple of ideas;
I had problems with a third party MIDI player. After I removed it, MIDI files started playing just fine.
Check if the MIDI file type has been stolen by an application. This can get in the way of playing files.
Another possability is that an application has corrupted your MIDI driver. Try uninstalling your sound card software, and sound card, boot at least once without the sound card in the system.
Then, re-install your sound card, and the latest drivers from the card mfg.

To The Chas: The error message I get is on the blue screen and it reads "A fatal exception OD has occured at 0028: C16F3CID in VXD VWSTREAM (01) + 0004000CD" I do not get this with a .wav.
Thanks for replying.
