How do I get Distribution Lists created in OL 2003 to OL 2007?

Distribution lists created in Contacts, not GAL
Some members of the DL come from GAL, some from other external domains.
These DL’s are visible and useable in OWA.
We are wiping computers and installing
WIN XP and Office 2007. Since the users are exchange clients, their email, etc. appears just fine after we configure Outlook on the new wiped computer.
However, the Distribution lists that they previously created in OL 2003 are not appearing in OL 2007. But as I said earlier, the server does have these DLs because I can see them in OWA.
An upgrade to Office 2007 without wiping the computer does not display this problem.
