Migrate to New PC

by jstauffer . Updated 23 years, 7 months ago

I?ve bought a new PC and am treading the lengthy task of installing all my apps, updates, plug-ins, utilities, etc. Last time it took me 3 days. But now I see a product called PC Upgrade Commander (http://www.v-com.com/product/pcuc_ind.html) that claims it will transfer all apps, data, and settings for me, even going from Win98 to Win2K. And it has the intelligence not to screw-up the registry, DLLs, or other vital functions.

Would you trust this? What if I have corrupted DLLs and myriad obsolete registry entries that this thing migrates? I?d just like to hear some opinions on whether or not any of you would use something like this.

Thanks…

Jim
