Migrating Exchange 2010 off a Ms Server 2008 DC

By Mykal72 ·
I have inherited a Ms server 2008 r2 domain controller with Exchange 2010 installed on it. All the Fsmo roles are running on this server. I have another Domain controller which is a SMB Ms server 2003. I want to migrate exchange 2010 to the new Ms server 2008 r2 which will be just a member server. I then want to uninstall Exchange 2010 from the old server and attempt to keep it as a Domain controller. If not will i need to transfer all the FSMO roles to the SMB Ms server 2003 along with the global catalog. Then Migrate Exchange 2010 with my backups of mailboxes, public folders, and databases to the new MS server 2008 server. That will be just a member server. Test run my connectors and hub transport on Exchange 2010 on the member server before i decomission the old server and perform a clean install of Ms 2008 r2 to promote it back to a DC with no Exchange.
