We have a mixed NetWare/NT environment, with Novell being our main platform, and NT handling DHCP, DNS, Email Services, Special Apps, etc. We use NDS for NT to tie the networks together. We are going to be moving to Win2K Active Directory replacing Novell, but because issues out of my control, we cannot implement Active Directory right now. I just set up a new Dell PowerEdge 2550 with Windows 2000 Server and made it part of our NT domain. This server is to be our file storage, moving all current storage from our main Novell server to this one. Being that the OS is WIN2K and not NT4.0, I cannot use the Novell to NT migration tool. Do you have any suggestions on how I can migrate the file resources from Novell onto this WIN2K machine?I’m trying to keep this as simple as possible, but effective. Going from a robust object oriented database (NDS) to a mundane, flat database (WinNT)could cause problems when migrating. I would like to move right to Active Directory, but the corporate structure above us isn’t ready to make the jump.
