I am a tech rookie and looking for a little guidance. I work in a school with about 30 PC workstations and 30 macs. I want to move the Workgroup to a domain for numerous reasons. My question is what is the best way to complete this migration while maintaining network resources, ie file shares, printers etc. Is there a way to enable active directory, set it as a domain controller and then beable to test it while keeping the workgroup active? I have set up a DC from scratch, but never migrated from a Workgroup before.
