By bmarek ·

I recently purchasd a new server. The biggest probelm I'm having is migrating my old Proxy server to my new proxy server, so I can that I can retire my old server. I have to migrate 300 clients (NT wkstations and Win9X) to my new server. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

In the MMC back up your proxy configs. In the documentation for the PRoxy they give really good steps on how to do this.

Have you considered "cloning" your old drive? Try something like Norton Ghost. It copies your old drive, bit for bit. You may have to fix some drivers, depending on the new machine's configuration but the cloning only takes a few minutes (much less than a backup and restore).
You can get a "trial" version of the "Enterprise" version at /www.symantec.com/sabu/ghost/indexB.html.
I've used it many times to set up new machines from disk images in a production setting. If you plan to retire the old server anyway, why not.
You can buy a consumer edition from Symantec, go to http://www.symantec.com/sabu/ghost/ghost_personal/
