Migrating NT server to Win 2k3 server

By itstevepainter ·

Is there any article out there that walks you through all the necessary steps of migrating an NT server LAN to Windows 2003 server LAN. This would include the server itself (user/group/computer/security, files and printers) and the client workstations (the profiles).

Thank you
Steve P.

win2003 is also nt, so it's just an upgrade, not a migration.

NT isn't AD. To migrate user accounts, ACLs SIDs into a AD environment, Microsoft created the ADMT to use.

There are tons of articles on migrating NT to W2003server AD.

Heres an article on using the ADMT to migrate user accounts from NT to W2003 AD;en-us;832221

Here's one on migrating group policy;en-us;317367

Heres one on problems with moving SIDs from NT to W2k or W2003;en-us;269352
