Migrating printers to a new print server

By Bethany_L ·
(NT 4 Server) I am replacing my file and print server, and have migrated the printers to the new server using printmig.exe. That worked great - and saved alot of reconfiguration time.

The old server didn't match the naming scheme, therefore theprinter locations will be different for my users on the new server. I need to get the new printer locations to my clients (mixture of Win9x and NT4 WS). I haven't found an automated way to do this. I know it is easy to install a printer, but not in that kind of volume!

Thanks for sharing!

Beth

Thank you for taking the time to answer. The con2prt.exe utility comes from the NT Workstation Zero Administration Kit. It may help with the NT Workstations on my network, however the bulk of my clients are Win9x. I am still looking for an automated way to connect my clients to the "new" printer shares.
