I have an old Windows 98 laptop with no ethernet card and no CD burner. I will soon be getting my wife’s old G4 Powerbook with no floppy drive, running Jaguar. It’s got MS Office, so I know if all else fails I can just e-mail my Word and Excel Windows files as attachments and they will open just fine on the Mac, we’ve already done that a hundred times. But I don’t know about Quicken, which we haven’t installed on the Mac yet. Does anyone know whether the Mac version of Quicken is as adept at opening and converting a Windows format file as MS Office for Mac is? Then there’s the file size. It would be an ungainly e-mail attachment for my dirt-cheap dial-up ISP: the backup fills four floppies. If I get a friend to transcribe the four floppies to a CD-WR, will I end up with a single file or four pieces? Will the Mac be able to read a Quicken file in Windows backup format? Thanks!
