Missing ~35 GB of space after restart – Macbook Pro – Catalina.

Hello,

I was working with a massive photoshop file and I ran out of RAM and space in the middle of working. I really stressed my macbook pro out. After closing everything and restarting, I noticed I had only 15 GB available. Before restarting I had 50 GB. Is there a pile of temp files that are sitting somewhere taking up space?

Check your recycling bin and .tmp files for the lost memory and delete them if you are certain that they are not important. To be safe, backup your files first on another source just in case.

I don’t care for cleanmymac type apps. Example: $39.95 per year subscription? That’s a hard no from me, but guess someone has to pay for all that damn spam and quasi-political statements they pollute the internet with!
