I had some difficulty with windows ME. To solve it I tried reinstallation – it didn’t make the problem any better, probably made it a little worse. Still all the data was present. I ended up updating the bios using a disk from the manufacturer. When I rebooted, I got a an error saying it was an unbootable disk. I got into the c-drive and saw only 3 folders: _recover, windows, and program files. My only course was to reinstall ME – it installed like a fresh install. It works great now but I am missing a lot of files. Is there anyway to try to get them back? Is the _recover directory possibly a backup of previous files on the pc? Thanks!
