Doesn't sound too good to me. It seems your brother has deleted some files he shouuldn't have before passing the Win98 machine onto you. "Winword.exe" is the main executable that runs Microsoft Word Processing, and this version of Winword.exe could belong to a Office95/97/2000 original installation....all depends. Did your brother leave you with any original CDs? Overall, is your Windows98 OS operational? You probably won't find winword.exe easily accessible on a web search. Sounds to me that if everything else that is a part of Win98 is operational, you may have to start re-installing Applications like Word/MS Office.

Go to Control panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> windows setup and add whatever you like or refresh the files. May need to remove accessories and then add back in to add the *.exe back in.
