Hi, I'm running Win 2000 Pro SP2, with Office 2000 SR1. Not quite sure how I've done it but I've lost the fax icon in control panel. I've uninstalled and reinstalled WinFax starter edition, bundled with office and all now seems fine - except I'm still missing my icon. Any ideas ? Thanks in advance,
Steve

First go to your WINNT\system32 directory and locate the file name fax.cpk. Just re-name it to fax.cpl which is the correct extention. All the icons in the control panel have a coresponding .cpl file in the the system32 dirctory. P.S You may need to refresh the control panel because it may or may not cache the control panel.
Another possibility to check: If you have TweakUI installed on your computer, it enbles the possibility of hiding Control Panel Icons. You may have hid it by mistake.
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
