MISSING GENERIC STORAGE VOLUME DRIVER FILES FROM WINSOWS XP

by imran.bakhtiari . Updated 17 years, 7 months ago

Recently I have installed my older Iomega zip drive (zip100) to my pc but it gave me some problem due to which it i had to un-install its relavent software. It seems that by un-installing it has taken away some basic windows files with it and now the situation is as following.
windows is not able to install any Flash drives or any storage device due to some basic missing files. I am getting an error message. Generic Volume “Cannot find the specified file”. I tried to install a SATA hard drive inside the pc to back up my system it gave me a similar message. I would appreciate if someone help me in this regard. Here I would like to add that the rest of the pc and the software are working fine except this problem.
