Missing NdisWanIp Under TCP/IP ->Adapt.

I currently have an open thread

http://techrepublic.com.com/5208-11184-0.html?forumID=47&threadID=181151

About my wireless network adapter being stuck on aquiring network address, then times out to limited or no connectivity.

I have been doing some research and found this article

http://forum1.netgear.com/support/viewtopic.php?t=7449

which says to use this patch Microsoft patch (KB884020)

when I try and install that patch it errors out
with " Failed to migrate depent packages "

Is there any way to just import the NdisWanIp reg
setting?

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Sorry I didn't elaborate on that enough, I refrenced a known good PC's registry. The pc that connects has this registry entry

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Adapters\NdisWanIp

The pc that is stuck on acquiring network address does not have this reg key????
