Missing proxy server option in Internet

By asep_hendriana ·
My company utilizes a proxy server to connect to the Internet. If I use IE 5.5, the checkmark on the proxy server option and the proxy server value and port are always missing. This is not happened in other browser such as Opera or Netscape. Anyone know how to fix this problem since most users in my company use IE?

Are they missing altogether or just grayed out? If grayed out, your distribution of IE may have been customized by the IEAK (Internet Explorer Admin Kit). We used that at our site to roll out a version of IE that had the proxy settings locked down (grayed out) so users couldn't change them.

Just to make sure you're looking at the right place, follow this path to find the proxy server settings:
Tools
Internet Options...
Connections (Tab)
Lan Settings... (Button)
On the next page (Local Area Network (LAN) Settings), you have two sections: "Automatic Configuration" (upper half) and "Proxy Server" (lower half).
You are saying that the "Proxy Server" half of the screen is blank?
