You need to identify what the file extension is.
(right click on the files in Windows Explorer, and check what file type/extension it is)

mmsystem files are normally .dll files that are part of running programs and the windows GUI.

It is possible that you have a virus, or that a "rouge" program has associated .dll files with a media player.
