Has anybody ever had a modem fry a motherboard? I took all the precautions while installing it to prevent any static electric damage, but after installing it and removing it, the computer no longer boots. Now, although this modem ws brand new, I could tell that it had been opened. Is is possible that the modem was damaged and that is what caused the damage to the motherboard?
