I’ve been playing around with computers for about 5 years now just came to bottle neck in this one weel three really.
hardware list first:
jet j530bf mainboards (i know not really the best choice but thats what they have)
sis 530 video
wd 10 gighard drives
64mb sdram
3com nic cards
brand new IBM modem internal 56k v.90
now the problem ?
the ibm modem card is suppose to be plug and play and it is in any motherboard i put them except for these jet j530bf. The motherboard will not evenfind it. all the other mainboards set it up on comm 5 irq 3 0r 11
I can;t even manully install it all i get is can’t open port after its installed and will only install on comm 3 or 4
these modems are a ehternet combo card with the ethernet disabled no drivers installed.
they work just find in anything else i put them in . my customers like his computers and dosen’t want to buy new mainboards or new modems. I have installed different modems to show him that it is a conflict in modems the other ones work find but they won’t budge on buying new cards.
do you have solutions to this problem ?
