Modem Install

By mikeyd ·
Logged onto a Windows NT4 SP4 pachine as a local administrator, which is in the administrators group, when trying to add a modem, I get the response that I must be an administrator to add a modem.

Go to user manager for domains, add another user (or use another member of admins group). For example, I would add myself to admins group. So add new user (sonnyk), and apply to administrators group. See if that works.

See what other groups you are a part of. The order in which your groups a listed is the order of security. If your part of a group that is not able to perform the task and apart of a group that is able to perform the task, than that group must be higher in the list.
