First, I know the modem is good. Next, I Change ‘IRQ’ setting..nothing happen there. I went throught device manager and did some configuring there; nothing happen. I did every possible thing to try to get the com port open – nothing happens. Now, I’m thinking it’s a motherboard problem. Could this be true? Is there jumpers that i use to open up the com port. Also, i used the phone dialer to see if i can make a call. It’s telling me “Another program is using the telephone device” I’ve change every possible thing..there is no other problem in use. I’m using windows and the computer is Gateway2000. I am open to any advice at this time….
