Modem problem connecting to the internet

I have been having frequent problems connecting to the internet. I have been told that my modeem driver needs to be updated. I am not aure how to access a site from which I can do this. Any suggestions?? --- Ron.

Try going to the company that made the modem
web site. If you still have trouble try
http://www.driverguide.com/. It may not be
the driver. Check your phone lines. Make sure
the modem is not on the same irq as other
devices.
What type modem isit controless pci?
You will often have more setup problems. Is
it a new modem? You could possible trade for
another modem, if within 30 days. If you need
more help give us more details.

Check to see what type,model and manufacturer of your modem then look at the following sites for updated drivers

If you have internet access, then go to your control panel, systems, hardware select modem, click properties, click tab for driver, click update, check Windows Update and unclick everything else. This should get you the most current one as far windows is concerned. If this does not work, go to a drivers site such drivers guide. When requesting a driver, do not give to much information otherwise you may never find your driver. example (modem search) USR 2956. download, if ziped, unzip in a seperate folder, then go back to control panel, system and modem update, check the guide it to where you placed the modem driver. Thanks to the members who responded ro my question. I will be contacting each of you individually. I have not yet solved the problem. For now it seems to have gone away, temporarily of course. If any of you, or anyone else has any other thoughts, please send them along. Thanks,--- Ron.
