Modem problems

By AnchorsAway ·
I have a ModemBlaster Flash56. I am trying to get it to work, but it isn't recognizing it. I have done everything I can think of. I was just using it when I had to reload my software. I forgot how I got the system to recognize it before.

I have tried changing the IRQ, and the COM ports, but no luck. I checked the jumpers on the modem, and they are all correct.

Any help would be appreciated.

Not much help can be offered when you have tried and exhausted all other options
Try using the Add New Hardware Wizard and manually load the modem, donot let windows detect the modem, select from list and click have disk
Also open the Control Panel,right-click on Modem, select properties and choose the add button
Nothing else I can think of that you may have not already tried.

normally i would suggest opening the case and reseating the modem.

if this is a winmodem you may have to run an uninstall either from add remove programs or in the modem software.

goodluck!

First, does the modem show up in the post screen that lists your devices?
If not, go into BIOS and set the PCI configuration to update.

I am assuming that you had to reload your OS.
Have you re-installed the chipset drivers?
Especially if you have the ISA version of the ModemBlaster, you may need to have the PCI and ISA buss drivers installed before you can access the modem card.

Beyond the buss drivers, try a different slot in the MB.
