Modem reboots computer

By ab2hu ·
I have a Zoom HCF PCI 56K Faxmodem, and whenever I connect to the internet when something is prying at it (like AOL IM, MSN IM, A web site, etc...) the computer will just reboot and start up again. Any Ideas on how to fix this?????

Try reinstalling the driver of the modem.
check to see if any other modem is giving the same problem.
Also there could be a problem with the n/w setting if you are using a network.

i had a equal problem, perhaps like in my case it as nothing to do whith your hardware or drivers. if you have a firewall that reboot the pc when it thinks that someone is making an atack to you.
just change that option and it will be running, if thats the case.
