Modifiying ntfs permissions on a root directory.

By gunthr ·
Hello,

I have Win2k3 servers that have a separate HDD for data. I would like to run a script that creates the share and changes permissions on this drive. I use net share to create the share and grant the share level permissions, but I can't find anything to do it at the file level. I have tried using xcacls, but it does not work on the root directory of a partition. Any ideas?

Thanks!

As well as doing just about everything else, it will set permissions on the root of shares.

Looks like this will do the trick.

Thanks!

It was a bit tricky, but I was able to set my permissions. This looks like it will be a very useful tool. Thanks, again.
