Modify printer name

Hi all,

We are deploying Windows XP in the company and using Novell NDPS for printing service. But after I do an installation on printer, the printer name is too long and our user cannot understand what is the printer. I am trying to rename the printer be a more friendly name. But I cannot do that on the printer wizard.

I try to change it in /HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/print/printers, it can change the printer name to a friendly name. But after a while, there have another printer entry on my system. I check with the registry and it build a same old printer entry there and the one I renamed on the registry become duplicate.

Can you give me some advise to how to slove it?
