I need to put a retired laptop back into use, forgot the password and can’t use my password reset utility CD because the optical drive died. (That’s why I retired the machine.) I’ve removed the drive and can access it via a USB cable but don’t know how to access the registry on the drive to reset the password on this drive. The OS is XP Pro.
