Whenever I turn on my computer and start to work, after a few minutes the monitor starts to black out — half the screen will turn black from the bottom going up, and this problem corrects itself if I tap on the back of the monitor. What can i do to correct this problem? I have a HP compaq system using Windows XP that is approx. 18 months old and off warranty.
