Is there any software utility, which lists all the software installed on computers on LAN (to operate from one system)

There are many.

Microsoft's SMS is probably the most common, but you will find many companies provide tools which will run on client machines and provide both a hardware and software inventory, in a central database.

Network Associates also has a tool, though the name escapes me.

Hope that helps get you started.

Many good ones are free, although there are a lot of assett management tools that are commercial. Check out the Business Software Alliance at:
www.bsa.org
for a free fairly comprehensive one. If you just use MS, get theirs from their website.
These are both free.

Quite a few

Quite a few out there, depending on how much money you want to spend. Personally, I think Tivoli is pretty good. Unlike SMS, Tivoli also lets you push installs and upgrades for non-MS programs out to workstations. This is assuming you're working with MS systems though.
