I have recently begun working with a network that is comprised of roughly 70 client machines. The servers are located in a remote location and all internet access comes through a T1 line into 3 Cisco switches. The network runs incredibly slow and the corporate office IT has mentioned that they have noticed that one of the clients is sending outbound traffic much more than it should but they haven’t looked into the matter any further than that. How can I figure out which machine is causing the excess transmissions? Unfortunately I have limited administrative rights so that may be an issue in finding the transmission source.
