Monitor Screen

By marcson98 ·
Somebody put my monitor screen face down on the rug when it was being moved and now ther is some light scratching on the middle of my monitor screen. Does anybody know of a way that I can buff this out or get it cleared up some other way. It's not bad, but it's definitely annoying.

Well, face down is the safe way to transport a monitor. The stand on most monitors will fracture if the monitor is bumped while moving.
It is a shame that yours got scratched.

I would only try this on a CRT type monitor that does NOT have a touch screen.

This also will NOT work for a monitor with anti-glare coating.

Either get a CD repair kit, or go to a motorcycle store and get a bottle of the polish for helmet visors.
Carefully polish the face of the monitor.

1: Make sure the monitor is off AND unplugged!
2: Many monitors have a thin plastic coating over the front glass. Do NOT polish too aggressively, or the entire coating layer will rub off.
3: Make sure the monitor is dry before plugging it back in.
