monitoring workstation

By jvoyles ·
I have discovered that one of the workstation's on my network has been going to questionable web sites. I would like to know the best way to discover if perhaps there is something running in the background that the user is unaware of. Is there a way I can connect to his system without his being aware?

Trying to give the user the benefit of the doubt before anything is said.

Thanks in advance for your help,

In the wiring closet, put an ethernet hub in between his lan drop

and the ethernet switch.

Plug a laptop into the ethernet hub, and run one of the following apps:

1) Wireshark (packet capture tool)

2) EffeTech HTTP Sniffer (Http sniffer)

Either one is free.

There is surveillance software called eBlaster that records keystrokes and web pages and emails them to you. It is very hard for a normal user to detect and very stealthy.
