We have recently rolled out an XP operating system upgrade to about 30 machines. Of those around 6 users have complained about a blurry strip down the center of thier screens.
Sure enough, each have a section down the middle, about 1/3 screen width, which is out of focus. The left and right edges are normal.
Monitors are recent IBM 17″ CRT’s and were working perfectly until the software upgrade.
I’ve tried playing with refresh rates and resolution with no effect. XP picks up the monitors as plug and play and IBM don’t offer XP drivers.
Of note the on screen displays are complely in focus.
