You can remove the old mouse from the ADD/Remove hardware icon in the Control Panel.

Add/Remove hardware icon is there in Control panel?
I think it is Add/Remove programs only or Add new hardware.

If you only have one mouse in the system under control panel you probably will not need to remove the old mouse.

You could remove the mouse (mice) in system, use keyboard tab key to menuver to close and reboot. Use new driver from the floppy to reload mouse driver on bootup.

Oz was on the right track. Go to Control Panel and double click System, click on the Hardware tab and it will list all your installed hardware (modems, monitor, etc.) There should be an entry for your mouse, and if the one you’re wanting to remove is listed there you should be able to remove it.

You could go into device manager and remove it. Then go to actions and scan for changes, load the driver.
