More tales of annoying “technical recruiters” who are clueless

by why me worry? . Updated 15 years, 10 months ago

Look at the email conversation I had with this one bottom feeder:

Recruiter:

I had viewed your resume online and would like to get an opportunity to speak to you. I’m working on a position for a client of mine that looks like it would be a good fit with your background. We are working on a what will approximately be a 6-8 month project migrating 900 Microsoft servers to 3 VMware farms. We are looking at paying 60-85/HR. The position will be located in Eagan, MN. Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you
soon.

My response:

Did you miss the part online that states that I am not interested in relocating or traveling? Do you guys even bother reading the resumes or the online profiles before simply blasting out these emails?

–Quote of the day–
There is no “HOTFIX” for stupidity

Recruiter:

No…just like I won’t pay attention to this. Poor thing…you had to read an email. Shame.

My response:

I get flooded with emails from bottom feeders who call themselves “recruiters” all day, and if you didn’t take the time to read the profile or the resume, then perhaps you need to reconsider another line of work.

Recruiter:

I have 4 candidates who said on their profile that they didn’t want to travel who are now interested. Amazing how people change their minds for the right opportunity. That’s why I send an opportunity to everyone who fits the profile despite what they say about relocation or travel, because it gets results. I also get candidates for other roles I’m recruiting on that might not necessarily want the particular requirement I sent to them, but are kind enough to respond in an appropriate manner becoming of a true professional. If folks with thin skin get pissed because they have to go to all that trouble to read an email then so be it. Thanks for the laugh. Bye Bye now.

Moral of the story…these guys are so careless that they don’t even have the time to read profiles or resumes, nor do they care to, yet, they are being paid to find people jobs? This ass should find a new line of work if he misses the finer points.
