motherboard change now cd/dvd issue

By cckep ·
I had a friend at work replace my motherboard on my Dell Dimension 3000 with a new Optiplex motherboard. All is fine except my cd/dvd drive is no longer recognized. An "a" floppy in explorer is recognized but this computer does not have a floppy drive. Is this a bios or cabling issue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Open the BIOS and disable the Floppy Drive there

Windows is reporting the A Drive most likely because BIOS is telling it that there is one present.

As for the Optical Drive try downloading the Chip Set Driver for your New M'Board and installing that from Dell's Web Site and that should cure the lack of the Optical Drive.
