Motherboard Failure after Microsoft Media update install

By gconover ·
I updated my Microsoft Media to the newest version yesterday. When I rebooted I get nothing. I tried F12 and it says I have a motherboard failure. Do I really have a motherboard failure or was it the software and how can I repair this?

You can get a copy of the Ultimate Boot CD from here to test your hardware

Boot off the CD and test your hardware. While it's possible that the M'Board has failed it's unlikely and far more likely that a Critical M'Board driver has been corrupted with the change.

If the Software has been corrupted you'll need to do a repair install of your OS.
